Ingredients

  • 40g (¼ cup) plain flour

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 x 125g wheels of Brown’s Camembert Cheese

  • 100g crackers, crushed

  • Cranberry sauce, to serve

Preparation

Step 1: Prep the Coating

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (180°C fan-forced).

  2. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.

  3. Spread flour onto a plate.

  4. Lightly whisk eggs in a wide, shallow bowl.

  5. Place crushed crackers in another shallow bowl.

Step 2: Coat the Cheese

  1. Cut each wheel of Brown’s Camembert into 8 even wedges.

  2. Dust each wedge in flour, shaking off the excess.

  3. Dip into the egg mixture, ensuring it's evenly coated.

  4. Roll in the crushed crackers, pressing firmly to coat.

Step 3: Bake Until Golden

  1. Arrange the coated camembert wedges on the prepared tray.

  2. Lightly spray with olive oil for extra crispiness.

  3. Bake for 7 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is slightly melted inside.

Step 4: Serve & Enjoy

  1. Serve immediately with cranberry sauce for dipping.

Health Benefit

Brown’s Camembert Cheese is cave-aged for a rich, creamy flavor, offering a good source of calcium and healthy fats. Paired with whole-grain crackers, this dish provides a balanced mix of protein and carbohydrates, making it a satisfying yet indulgent snack.

Tip

  • For extra crunch, double-coat the cheese by dipping it in egg and crumbs a second time before baking.

  • No Jatz crackers? Use panko breadcrumbs or any crunchy crackers you have on hand!

  • These bites are best served fresh but can be reheated in the oven for a quick snack later.
